Urgent appointments

Getting help when you have an urgent medical problem.

  • Consider a Pharmacy or the Practice as your first port of call

  • The practice can deal with most urgent medical problems

  • Think twice about using A+E and walk-in centre's - waiting times are long and it is inappropriate to attend with minor injuries

How the practice deals with urgent medical problems.

  • Same day appointments - if you have a genuine urgent problem, you may speak to a GP via the telephone triage or a face to face appointment

  • Your problem will need to be assessed - please give clear details to the receptionist

  • You may be asked to speak to a doctor/nurse

  • If, after assessment, your problem is not deemed urgent - you will be given an appropriate alternative appointment
