At Urban Village Medical Practice we are very keen to refresh our PPG to ensure that we have the patient's voice involved in decisions that we feel will affect the practice population. We are hoping that the PPG will help strengthen the relationship between patients and practice staff.
The activities of the PPG will vary as they develop and evolve to meet the needs of the population, however they may include:
The opportunity to share in decisions around the running of the practice
A platform for patients to make positive suggestions about the practice, and be advocates for patients ideas
Increasing patients understanding of the reality of running a busy GP practice
Acting as a 'critical friend', by helping the practice to understand how patients feel about issues such as surgery opening hours, appointment systems, requests for home visits, waiting times, repeat prescriptions and the range and type of services provided within the practice.
